The Central Australia Tourism Exchange (CATE) returns to Alice Springs on 24 March 2026, bringing together tourism operators, frontline staff and more than 25 ATEC-accredited buyers for a dynamic day of regional product discovery and industry connection.
Delivered in partnership with the Australian Tourism Export Council (ATEC), CATE 2026 offers a unique opportunity for the Central Australian tourism industry to showcase the breadth of experiences available across the region. The event follows a structured, fast-paced “speed-dating” appointment format, ensuring all participants maximise their engagement time and build meaningful business relationships.
Whether you’re seeking new product knowledge or showcasing your tourism offering, CATE provides a valuable platform to strengthen trade partnerships, improve frontline capability and support long-term growth for Central Australian tourism.

This group includes ATEC Buyers and Frontline Staff. Both are attending with the purpose of seeking product information, understanding what’s available, and learning how to better sell or promote Central Australian experiences. This includes: ATEC-accredited trade buyers Hotel concierge Visitor information centre staff Tour desk staff Any frontline roles that benefit from product knowledge
This group includes tourism operators with a product to sell, such as: Tours and attractions Accommodation providers Transport operators Hospitality experiences Events and other bookable products Each Seller will be provided with one presentation table, which they are welcome to personalise and dress to best showcase their tourism offering.
The Activation Add-On is an optional upgrade for Sellers who wish to create a larger, eye-catching display in addition to their standard presentation table inside the venue. This option is ideal for operators wanting to showcase something physical or experiential outside the building - such as a vehicle, camper, equipment display, or interactive activation - while still participating in the indoor speed-meeting sessions.
